WHOLEACTING: The Weekend
Nov.16,17, 18 2007
“I have never taught the same class twice. I bring with me to every audition, performance and workshop everything I have experienced on both sides of the camera in the preceding year adding to my existing knowledge and expertise. We are always growing. The wholeactor learns to work with technique developing craft into a loose fitting garment that is worn throughout your life as an artist. Let’s spend an intensive weekend putting new tools to your toolbox and sharpening the ones you already have. – Valerie Landsburg 2007
November 16th (Friday) 7-10pm - This is a free talk Q & A open to all with participation by workshop participants only*.
November 17th (Saturday) 8am-6pm - Workshop participants only*.
November 18th (Sunday) 8-6pm - Workshop participants only*
The cost of the workshop is $275.00 per attendee. This class has a maximum of 14 participants, spaces fill quickly (See payment information below)
Spend 25 hours submerging yourself in the techniques of the wholeactor. Work hands on with material as you watch yourself grow and stretch into places you have never touched before and see the work you do inside your head start to come through the skin. We will work with sensory and improvisational techniques, an actor’s approach to script analysis and THE ACTOR BOX, a tool that quickly lays out the work on a play, a film, rehearsal or audition. Bring an existing audition monologue or a new piece you may be working with to use as a baseline for me to analyze your level of work. We will tape your work at the beginning so we can see how far we have some over the weekend.
WHOLEACTING: The Weekend is open to people who have never taken WHOLEACTING and for those who have studied with me before this is a great refresher to help re-center, refine and incorporate in the work they are currently doing. The workshop is also open to any professionals, directors, writers and artists who want to expand in the creative process.
Directors are also encouraged to take the course as ACTIVE OBSERVERS $75, allowing them to interact with questions. There is also SILENT OBSERVERS from any field for $25 to observe the weekend of work.(I will answer silent observer question during the lunch break)

Learn how to use BUSINESS PLANS as a creative tool in your life.
5pm - 10pm - Fee: $50.00
Place TBA
In January of 2002 I knew that I needed to begin to create a business
outlook and strategy for my work as a director, actor, writer and teacher.
I had the great good fortune to have had a large dot com company belly up
leaving its C.F.O Dan Snyder available to become my mentor in this area. Over
a three-week period I learned how to create business plans the Captain Dan
way. Since that time they have become an integral part of my business
process and always seem to spark movement in anything I am doing when I
create new ones or update previous ones. So I invite you to take a look at
this incredible tool.
Business Plans are not just that paper you give to perspective investors.
They are powerful outlines that enable you to bring any idea from
inception to fruition.
A Business Plan:
1. Lets people know you have given a lot of thought about what you
are doing.
2. Lets you explore the unlimited expanse of any idea.
3. Lets you know where you need more information.
4. Lets others participate in cultivation of your ideas.
....and more
Spend 5 hours in a group limited to 10 participants. plus the HOST
